Oracle
Designer is the CASE (Computer Aided Software Engineering) tool
of choice for developers using Oracle's suite of products. A lot
of developers love Oracle Designer because it dramatically improves
productivity of the development team through CASE features customized
for Oracle Development.
Still,
there are a large number of Oracle development teams which do not
use Oracle Designer even when they own it "in-house".
Unfortunately, adoption of this versatile tool has been
widespread. Complexity of the install and administration of the tool
and somewhat steep learning curve in using the tool are two major
obstacles for developers in using Oracle Designer.
In
this seminar, Ravi Verma will provide tips and techniques for effective
implementation of this tool in Oracle related software development
teams.
Ravi will cover the following topics:
- Concepts of CASE(Computer Added Software Engineering)
- Concepts of SCM (Software Configuration Management)
- Fitting Oracle Designer in lifecycle of Oracle development
- Demonstration of CASE and SCM features of Oracle Designer
- Tips for smooth installation of Oracle Designer
- Forward and Reverse Engineering of Databases with Oracle Designer
Ravi Verma has over two decades of experience in using Oracle technology. He worked for Oracle Corporation before founding Telecommand Software and Services. He is written and presented several technical papers on Oracle Database and tools. He was president of the Sacramento Oracle User Group.
